Part 1: Engineer Degree Holder, 'Paramahamsa' Nithyananda, has Problems with Basic Arithmetic
Summary: The so-called Paramahamsa Nithyananda has concocted a very impressive story about his journey to his 'enlightenment'. The problem is that when someone adds up the years to the dates that this swami claims to have experienced, nothing adds up.
The graphic below nicely summarizes the inconsistencies in self-titled Paramahamsa Nithyananda's timeline:
Nithyananda, you said that you left your house when you were 17, wandered by foot for nine years, and then obtained enlightenment on January 1, 2000? You say, “Correct. It is in all my books.” I say, “That’s a nice story, but it doesn’t add up.” Your stories have too many inconsistencies.
Let’s start out with things that we agree that you said, Sri Nithyananda. First, we agree that you claim January 1, 1978 as your birthday. Then, we agree that you claimed your spiritual wanderings at age 17, where you left your home. And, we agree that you at least consistently said that you obtained ‘enlightenment’ on January 1, 2000, a very special day indeed. Do you agree with this, Paramahamsa Nithyananda? You will say, “Yes” (OK, you’ll just grunt as you do in real life, but we’ll take that as a ‘yes’.)
Let’s first look at your education. My understanding is that most young men and ladies in India leave/graduate high school at age 17. Why that’s perfectly consistent with your story about leaving home and beginning your wanderings across India. In fact, on page 157 of my copy of your book, Glimpses of My Master, Nithyananda, first edition December 2005 (but you recalled this 'first edition' book and then re-released it as the second 'first edition', but I think I have the original first ‘first’ edition that you didn’t want anyone to see.) Anyway, you state clearly that it was 1995 when you were getting ready to leave your house to start your wanderings. Now if we subtract the year you were born, 1978 from the date you started your journey, 1995, we get 17 years of age. Perfect. Right on target. You, Sri Nithyananda, are already to start your wandering.
But, wait just a minute. In your book, The Formless in Form, on page 29, you brag, yes, brag, that you not only attended a polytechnic near Gudiyattam, but passed each engineering exam with ‘Distinction’. That makes you a degree holder. Now aren't most polytechnic schools offer a three-year degree? How can a high school leaver/graduate get a three-year degree in ZERO years? Maybe you used some of your super-naturally siddhis and just completed the necessary tests upon arrival of this polytechnic school? But, once again in your book, The Formless in Form, on page 29, you mention that you attended ALL of the lectures, but never studied, therefore, you had to be there (in attendance) sitting in the classroom in order to pass. As quoted in your book, that you, Sri Nithyananda, wrote:
"The total concentration which he (Nithyananda) gave the lesson during class hours was enough to see him through each exam with the highest grade – a ‘Distinction’."That means that you had to be there, in the classroom, in the polytechnic school that is near Gudiyattam for the duration of the degree. Now, unless, Sri Nithyananda, you wandered in between classes, this resets your wandering journey to 1998 at age 20. How could this be? Are you stretching the truth just a bit?
Once again, if you answer the questions about the polytechnic school you attended that we asked earlier, all these questions just might go away. When will you answer these questions? [See post titled: 'Paramahamsa Nithyananda Fails Engineering College'] We specifically are interested to know the name and address of this polytechnic school, the dates of attendance, references, and a copy of your transcript. We wait, patiently. But, for now, the burden of proof is on you, Sri Nithyananda.
Paramahamsa Nithyananda, why are you squirming on your golden throne? This is just a small matter. You will fix it, won’t you?
Part 2: Nithyananda’s Long and Tall Stories to Match His Long and Tall Journey
Sri Nithyananda, let’s just assume this polytechnic degree never happened and that you left your house in 1995 at age 17 to start your wandering across the breadth of India. Is that true, Sri Nithyananda, that you wandered across India and Nepal for around nine years? You, Nithyananda, will say “Yes, that is true.” I say perhaps we should give you a calculator for your next Jayanti (birthday celebrations).
Again, on my copy of Glimpses of My Master, Nithyananda (same 'first' edition), you mention on page 83 that you:
“traveled over 30,000 kilometers over 8 to 10 years.”In most lectures, I hear you, Sri Nithyananda, usually just say that your wandered for nine years. OK, fair enough. We’ll split the difference and say nine years. Now in the same book, it says that you started your wandering in the year 1995 (p. 157) when you were just 17. I don’t know exactly when in 1995, so perhaps we can split the difference again and say that your journey started on July 1, 1995.
Paramahamsa Nithyananda, what is 1995 plus 9 ? Why, it is 2004. July 2004 to be consistent. Why by July 2004 you already had your Bidadi Ashram well established, your first gig as a holy Himalayan tour guide, and already made several trips to the US as an ‘enlightened’ master.
But, didn’t you, Sri Nithyananda, say that you obtained the ‘ultimate’ experience of ‘enlightenment’ on January 1, 2000? And, that concluded your wandering?
Why that was just in a mere four and a half years of wandering, exactly half of the full nine years of wandering that you always claim. Is there an explanation, Sri Nithyananda? Would you like to tell us something? Did you do some time continuum travel? Or is it like your ‘sacred’ banyan tree at your Bidadi ashram that ages in double-time. (Stay tuned for another post about the incredible ‘sacred’ banyan tree that was first claimed to be 300 years old and now it is claimed to be 600 years old.)
I know, Sri Nithyananda, you go beyond logic. And, this proves that you gone way beyond logic. I think you might have landed firmly in the realm of nonsense. Would some people see this as lying? What? A living Paramahamsa and self-declared saint lie in this age of Kali Yuga? What is this world coming to, Paramahamsa Nithyananda? Please say it ain’t so!

If all of this is true, what do his parents think? and if he is having sex with all these young girls then why don't they get jealous and report the abuse or stand up and say something..like "they had sex with him?" where is the proof of all these allegations?
ReplyDeleteThose young girls were ashramites who had vows of complete surrender to Nithy.
ReplyDeleteA few ashramites said that they would jump off the cliff if Nithy tells them too. These were guys though. I had not asked this question to the ladies.
Yeah right now there is not a shred of proof about sexual misconduct. It's all hearsay and allegations. Hey, I'm from Missouri too.
ReplyDeleteOm Namah Shivaya,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments. No, the allegations on sexual misconduct are not based on hearsay. They are based on 'There Say'. Someone who has been THERE SAYS that they have seen many attractive ladies deliver food to Sri Nithyananda's personal quarters and stay there for hours. (Please see the post titled "Nithyananda Private Life is Very Different Than His Public Life" (posted on October 31, 2009). We wish not to disclose the names of these ladies, for we feel that they are innocent victims. However, if called to court, under penalty of perjury, then we will name these victims if ordered to do so.
Agreed, we do not have the 'smoking condom', but we do know that enough ladies have gone through Nithyananda's private quarters alone that one of them will become strong and Sri Nithyananda will become weak, and then it will all come out. We also have strong proof of the extent of brainwashing that has been placed on these ladies. We know that Sri Nithyananda really was very careful to prepare each victim before having those private sessions. However, much to Sri Nithyananda's surprise, the first lady that comes out of this trap and gives the details of what actually happens in his private quarters will be believed by many.
At that time of reckoning, we (there are many of us) will come out and fully support this woman in every means that we can. Yes, she will be listened to, respected, and believed.
We also know that Nithyananda's LA Ashram has turned into a hotbed of debauchery and illicit sex amongst the residents there. This behavior is the hallmarks of a cult center and not of a religious center. Sri Nithyananda is the one to blame for this, and we would like him to clean up his act or get out of the so-called 'holy' business all together.
Jai Maa.
Polytechnic is pursued after 10th Grade. So being 17 after plytechnic will match up. Just giving the fact and I am not a supporter of Nithya...
ReplyDeleteOm Namah Shivaya,
ReplyDeleteHi Anon, thanks for the clarification. Yes, if Sri Nithyananda started and graduated the two-year program at the polytechnic while he was just 15 in the 10th grade, then his wandering starting at age 17 in the year of 1995 is consistent.
Since you have access to this information, could you kindly send us the name and address of the polytechnic, the official years attended, month and year of graduation, and perhaps some references such as teachers or even other students?
Once we get this information, then we will be glad to post on this site that Sri Nithyananda has indeed obtained a two-year degree in engineering and started his wandering at in 1995 at age 17. Until we have this information, we'll still have healthy doubts.
Also, we are very interested to know how nine (9) years of wandering could possibly fit into four and a half (4.5) years of wandering. That is a 'mystery of mysteries'. Any insights to that, we would be glad to know and post.
Jai Maa.
Hey Skeptic
ReplyDeleteIf you are so bent upon finding the truth, why dont you go become an ashramite in LA ashram and find out for yourself. Even if you are a guy, there's evidence that Nithyananda even has sexual relationship(tantra practises) with men and women alike. So go find out for yourself. There is too much at stake for a girl to bring upon humiliation unto herself by saying she was raped. Also you are forgetting that this is a cult where insiders will not see light even if girl/boy does come out in open with such allegations. They will just cover it up saying 'there's not enough proof'. So the best way is go see it for yourself!
Om Namah Shivaya,
ReplyDeleteThanks, anon, for the post. Our sources at the ashram do not indicate that Sri Nithyananda had any physical relationships with males (boys or men), but admittingly, it took so long to figure out the strong indications that Sri Nithyananda has had physical relationships with attractive female devotees even though the circumstantial evidence was almost right out there in the open.
Therefore, we cannot automatically discount this allegation of physical relationships involving men, but it doesn't seem likely at this point.
You, anon, are absolutely right to say that the allegations of Sri Nithyananda having physical relationships with women are ones of rape. These women have been 'tricked' or 'forced' into this uncompromising situation. They were not consenting partners. We will not know for sure what has happened until one of the victims comes forward. The humiliation that these females have experienced(never mind the brainwashing) is beyond criminal. They must feel as if no one will believe them, and I doubt that there will be few in the ashram that will honestly believe them either. (Remember that these people are brainwashed too. The ones that will, in their hearts, believe them are the ones that made these arrangements and also are guilty partners is this crime. So, you are correct; no help will come from these people.)
As stated before, when some brave lady comes forward and tell all, there will be many, including the creator of this blog, who will give this victim full support including testifying, under penalty of perjury, in court. And, yes, we have plenty of proof.
For now, the best we can do is keep awareness up. This will prevent many from becoming victims to this sexual predator.
Jai Maa.
Just one more clarification about polytechnic. A Diploma course polytechnic can be pursued both after 10th grade as well as after higher secondary. If one takes up a polytechnic diploma course after 10th grade, its minimum duration is 3 years. Therefore the minimum age to graduate from a polytechnic diploma course is 18 years.
ReplyDeleteSome ashramites said they would killed themselves if Nithy tells them to do so. I asked this question to two ashramites, they saw Nithy as God & Master. They had vows of surrender and to do as they are told.
ReplyDeleteHow can these ashramites refuse God their bodies?
LOOK AT THE "RESULT" OF WHAT NITHYANANDA IS DOING:
ReplyDeleteITS ALL HELPING THE WORLD ;
SO FAR THERE WAS NO ONE WHO WAS HUSTED BY HIM....
AND HE RESPECTS EVERYONE NOT JUST LIKE BROTHER AND SISTER BUT LIKE "GOD"
-----------------------------------------------
SO, IF U DONT BELIEVE IN GOD THEN ATLEAST ALLOW OTHERS WHO BELIEVE IN GOD TO BECOME GOOD
-----------------------------------------------
IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW YOU SEE:
-----------------------------------------------
EVERYONE IN THIS UNIVERSE HAS CRITICS INCLUDING GOD, JESUS, ALLA ,KRISHNA, BUDDHA, SAI BABA, ETC....
-----------------------------------------------
I'M NOT JUST TELLING THIS TO MAKE THOSE PPL UNDERSTAND WHO ARE AGAINST NITHYANANDA BUT TO THOSE PPL WHO HAVE TRUST/LIKE/LOVE ETC IN HIM SO THAT THEY DONT GET CARRIED AWAY FROM NONSENSE
-----------------------------------------------
SORRY IF I HAD TOLD
WRONG
Om Namah Shivaya,
ReplyDeleteHi Varun,
Thanks for the comment, and sorry that we were late to post it. We sense that you are sincere, and we appreciate that you expressed your honest opinion. And, although we do not agree with you, you did not tell wrong, for that is what was in your heart. And, we respect that.
Yes, in public, Sri Nithyananda represents all of the points that you made. Even our contacts that lived in his ashrams noted that for a period of time, Sri Nithyananda could still extend this facade inside of the walls of his ashram. But, after a while, the sheep skin slips off the wolf, and Sri Nithyananda's true intentions are revealed. We feel very strongly that Sri Nithyananda is just the opposite of all the masters that you mentioned including Jesus, Allah, Krishna, Buddha, Sai Baba, etc. Those people worked for the common good of everyone, not to enrich themselves by masquerading as being something different than they were. If you read through this blog, you will know that we do believe in God and the work of True Masters.
Yes, we are going to be vocal and let the Truths be known. If critics expressed themselves early, we would have never had monsters like Adolph Hitler. Hitler successfully stifled any critiques about him and then hypnotized a whole nation and led it to ruin. Hitler’s results are well known, and Nithyananda’s cult tactics are very similar in many ways. So, let there be transparency and debate, and if other people still want to follow Sri Nithyananda after they know what other followers who have given their lives (and ruined their lives) already know, then God bless them.
We are not certain of what you meant by "no one who was husted by him...", but we do know that Sri Nithyananda has caused divorces, financial ruin, broken families, shattered careers, deceit, dark practices, etc. He has hurt many people. Once the fog of La-La Land lifts, the once devotees find themselves in a wasteland of disillusionment and poverty. We really don't want to see anyone fooled and hurt as we have seen others already experienced.
Varun, best of luck to you.
Jai Maa.
Wow, I know a very beautiful Hindu lady who is right now 12/12/09 in India on her way to visit his ashram in Bangalore and I'm very concerned for her. Within two years of joining lifebliss in NYC, she has stripped herself of most posessions and is prepared to stay on if he asks her to. She has become distant, was ready to buy an apartment recently, but will give that up, walk away from a great job, friends and family. She also told me not to tell anyone including her family. This put's me in a very bad position and I don't know what to do. It goes against my beliefs. Should I respect her wishes or tell her family? She has a retun ticket, but may not make it back. I just want her to come home safe and sound, but I'm afraid it may be too late. I wish I came accross this site earlier.
ReplyDeleteConcerned NYer
To Very Concerned NYer, do u know that the Nithy cult is a fraud before u found this site?
ReplyDeleteNithy has occult powers, so your beautiful lady may be under his spell. Pray she doesn't become one of his room service girls who end up spending hours in his private quarters
It looks like u may need to choose the lesser of two evils and discuss this with her family. This is just my humble opinion.
I hope it works out for you.
I am thinking of sending a spy camera in his room to really see what happens there :) I am damn curious now..
ReplyDeleteTo Very Concerned NYer:
ReplyDeleteIts is sad what is happening to the "beautiful lady", but she is not the first; there has been a couple of them and I know more in the waiting to leave everything and join the "the master". If she is not rescured now, take my word, she will come back and flirt with men especially married men, luring them away from their beloved and children. What these men don't see is that they are just using them to meet their target and gaols set for them by the organisation. This will get them nothing in return, expect a transient midlife crush!!! These ladies, I know are very aggressive and use these men as bodyguards and slaves who would obey their commands! going to any extend, even putting their jobs/family at risk. Its nothing but nasty games and hence this cult should be banned from setting foot in NYC again!Remember how Bhaktananda closed shop and left NYC, but later send a "brainwashed beautiful lady" who did justice to her mission in all senses.
To Very Concerned Nyer,
ReplyDeleteAs much as you may want to save your lady, be tactful with your approach. Someone caught up with the cult may not listen to reason. Beautiful ladies are given special attention. They will be useful to help recruiting quotas.
Please get yourself the "Guru Papers" by Kramer & Alstad. The book helped me understand guru cults. Give her the book if she would bother to read it.
Please proceed with care. Be tactful with your lady.
I'm curious to know updates on all the comments above the fact that Sun News channel released his video sex scandal with actress Ragasudha (Niece of yester years actress K.R.Vijaya).
ReplyDeleteThis guy is freaking joke. A scar on the society. Hopefully he gets life term. Would be interesting to hear what the 'true' believers have to say at this point.
ReplyDeleteToday the Kalki cult also was in the news distributing drugs and apparently engaging in illegal sexual activity (near Chennai)...
Nithyananda has suppossedly picked up the life incidents of Nilkanth Varni(Bhagwan Swaminarayan, 1781-1830 CE) of Gujarat. He too left the comforts of his home at the age of eleven to wander across the sub-continent of India for seven years.
ReplyDeleteGiven here is a brief under the section "Leaving Home".
http://baps.org/lordswaminarayan/biography/1.htm
Talk of swamis picking up incidences from the lives of gdos to prove themselves to be divine.
