Nithyananda Starts a New Parallel Universe Blog = Fantasy Land

Nithyananda's Bloggers Claim Cyber La-La Land

Wow, Paramahamsa Nithyananda, do you believe in parallel universes? You know, Sri Nithyananda, just like the sci-fi horror movies where something is truthful exists in the real world but in a parallel plane it becomes lies? Where something that express dharma (righteousness) becomes adharma (unrighteousness)? Where something is based on reality becomes garnished in La-La Land fantasy? Where something that was light and humorous becomes heavy and dull? Where something is written respectfully becomes caste as 'filthy'? "You should never question an 'enlightened' healing master. We work on a different plane." Yes, we agree, with you Sri Nithyananda. You work on different planes. In fact, here's the proof. As everyone knows, our blog is:
nithyananda-cult.blogspot.com
and your new parallel universe blog is:

Wow, Sri Nithyananda, looks like you must have admired our friend, Jody Radzik's blog of Guruphiliac. Same skin and everything. Will you be advertising some energy drinks on it too? That might help you collect some money for your charity work and those the free samples of those energy drinks will come in handy when all your sleep deprived ashramites need a pick-me-up.

OK, Sri Nithyananda, we accept that copying is the most sincere form of flattery, and we now officially feel flattered that you took the time and resources to help counter the influences that our blogs have caused and officially recognized that we have some serious questions and they need to be answered. Thanks for the clarity. (On a side note, is Clarity one of your new room-service girls? Did you name your blog after her?)

Sorry, Sri Nithyananda, for the distraction. So, could you, Sri Nithyananda, please answer these simple questions on your parallel universe blog so that we all have a very good idea where you stand and we no longer can guess or speculate? Don't worry, there just simple chronological questions with no tricks up our sleeves, promise. Can you, Sri Nithyananda, and your dedicated blogging team answer these questions:
  1. What was the exact day, time, and year you, Sri Nithyananda, were born?
  2. When did you finish your public education, e.g. Senior Secondary School (i.w. high school), Standards IX to XII? What year, what grade level, and how old were you?
  3. What years (from when to when) did you attend the three-year polytechnic in Engineering? Did you graduate?
  4. When did you leave home to start your nine-years of wandering? How old were you and what year was that?
  5. Where (exact place) did you reach your final stage of enlightenment that you claimed happened on January 1, 2000?
Sri Nithyananda, answer these questions will be very helpful. We already mentioned some of these issues in a previous post on October 28, 2009, "Do the Math - Nithyananda's Enlightenment Timeline Doesn't Add Up", and well, we know that all true Paramahamsas are embedded in the Truth, so now that you have an official blog to voice your views on our blog, we would like to see a post address these specific, chronological questions. That shouldn't be too hard, unless of course you lied, and then you wouldn't be a true Paramahamsa that can charge all those outrageous prices for your workshop seminars. So, by answering these questions, Sri Nithyananda, your validity and marketing get a boost. And, if we're wrong with any of these calculations, we'll say, "Sorry." Promise.

And, Sri Nithyananda, could you please include the exact time of your birth? We're a bit confused. In your book, The Formless in Form, page 5, you wrote that you were born on 12:32 a.m., January 1, 1978. But in your other book, Glimpses of My Master, Nithyananda, first 'first' (original) edition December 2005 on pages 87-91 that you were born on January 1, 1978 at 0:30 (12:30 a.m.). I know, Sri Nithyananda, we're splitting hairs over just two measly minutes. But, why we really want to know the exact time of your birthday is that we can replicate that astrology chart that you said was done when the astrologers refunded all that cash to your family because they predicted that you would be a bona-fide sanyasi (monk). Since you didn't display this chart anywhere, like the Ramakrishna Mission displays Paramahamsa Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda's astrological chart, we thought we could do the same. That way if anyone had any questions, you could just add a link to our blog and then all their answers about whether or not you were 'the real McCoy' of a Paramahamas would be answered.

OK, Sri Nithyananda, we wait for your replies. In the meantime, we thought we would do a trans-cultural exchange and comment on your commentaries. Don't worry, Sri Nithyananda, we'll give you lots of back links that will help you in your search engine ratings.

Your post: Work IS meditation. Some don't get it!

Our reply: Well, we see that your blogger dude didn't add quote marks around his "a***"stericks, so we accept that we never said anything in that way. Well, thanks for letting us all know how you sell the fact that your slaves are really meditating and not just working all the time. You said that "I am surprised you call yourself an insider and are not aware of the daily meditation, yoga, puja/homa, chanting that all ashramites do." Yes, we are aware. In your LA ashram, not much happening except for work, work, work, and the person that had to start the sparsely attended 'guru pooja' in the morning. In the evening, some will make time (or actually have enough time in their busy schedule) to catch the Nithyananda version of arti at the Montclair Vedic Temple. Our insider experience in Bidadi Ashram, the morning version is usually well attended since there were coupons handed out for attendance. If someone missed the morning Nithya Dhyan Meditation in the morning, then that person got no lunch. Kind of reminded us of pigeons pecking for pellets in an animal experiment. We don't know if this practice is still continued or not.

And, yes, we agree, coming to the Ashram as an ashramite is hard work. Don't expect much sleep. We personally know people who didn't sleep for days at the ashram and one contact even fell asleep while driving the big Nithyananda commercial truck. Luckily, there were not accidents. That could have been the ultimate samadhi for many people.

Your concept of "Work is Meditation" (which we assume you also communicate that work brings 'enlightenment') reminded us of this statement:

Arbeit macht frei
is a German phrase meaning "work brings freedom".  Yes, this statement was adorned on the Nazi Germany concentration camps. Our history books said that era also focused around a charismatic leader who liked to censor any criticism about himself.

And, all of that work being done all of the time without proper rest if done under the wrong leadership, would cause some serious brainwashing. This is the techniques used in lot of cults including Jonestown, Osho, the Mason Family, Shining Path, etc. Why wasn't sleep deprivation one of the techniques that the CIA was using on 'high quality' suspects in Guantanamo that was questioned if it was deemed as torture or not? So, we hope that Sri Nithyananda really has it right and monitors all those ashramites so they do not become mentally instable.

Anyway, I'm glad your blogger was able to write some nice things about getting rid of the fatigue layer by lack of sleep and working, working, working away. I just wander if all that work really is meditation and if they are really doing all of those other things, then why did so many of the ashramites get so bulky? We also have accounts of 'enlightened' followers threatening suicide. That doesn't sound very good to me. But, we're open to your points.

Your post: Incorrect information about Sanyasis on nithyananda-cult.blogspot.com

Our reply:
Yes, we took an educated guess of the total of people who were ordained 'sanyasi - first level', you know, the folks wearing orange kavi (strip of holy cloth) cloth. We know that through the years there's been a lot of followers who were ordained on this level and then thought that Sri Nithyananda's brand of 'enlightenment' wasn't for them, so they left. This was particularly true in Nithyananda’s Bidadi Ashram. At one point, Sri Nithyananda got tired of the defection rate, so he made those 'ordained' sanysin (monk) go through a trial basis where they wore yellow (not saffron) kavi (strip of holy cloth) until they were officially 'ordained' and looked like they would stick around.

Some orders like the Ramakrishna Mission usually waits six to eight years before initiating someone into sanyasi (monk), for they want to make sure what person they get. Sri Nithyananda, a man in a hurry, ordained many, and some have actually stayed. Since we don't have access to the Nithyananda Foundation's statistics, we'll gladly post the number of people you want to give us as those who were officially ordained as 'sanysis' (monks). We honestly don't care. Our point then and our point now is that most of these people who were ordained were not qualified due to being married and other society obligations. In LA, there were several married couples that have been separated due to sanyasi (monk) initiation. Some seem very happy with the arrangements, others do not. In one occasion in July 2006, Sri Nithyananda pitted off one spouse against the other during the sanyasi initiation. One spouse wanted to become a senyasi (monk) the other wanted to remain a family life. In front of everyone, Sri Nithyananda constantly questioned the 'hold out' person whether it was 'Yes' or 'No' for that person's spouse to become a sanyasi (monk). If that person answered with 'Yes' there went the family. If that person answered with 'No' then the spouse would be non-forgiving. It was the most 'unspiritual' manipulation demonstration that Sri Nithyananda was abusing his powers and breaking up families. Regardless, we feel that it is wrong to break up families, but we cannot stop you. We'll just point it out, and express our opinion.

Your post: One common question: Why are the courses so highly priced?

Our reply:
Your prices seem to be a bit distorted. We don't know how much your charging for the Life Bliss Program these days. At one point, it was $250.00 for the two-day program. Now, you say, "$100.00". OK, we'll accept that. We knew that in 2008 that in the Montclair Vedic Temple that Life Bliss Programs that charged $250.00 were only receiving a few (average around seven) participants. The market did not support the Life Bliss Program at $250.00, so if you dropped the price to $100.00 for the two-day program, that makes sense. After all, this is your 'feeder' introduction program, so it makes sense to do it at a lower costs. The most recent offering of the one-day Kalpataru Program in the U.S. was at $250.00 up from $150.00 which you quoted. That's a huge distortion. Will you then be offering a $100 refund to everyone who paid $250 for this program? That seems fair for over charging the participants. Your figures for accommodations of $60.00 per day is slightly out-of-alignment. If that was a decent hotel room, that would be fair. In actuality, a hanger-sized room of wall-to-wall bunk beds is a human fire hazard masquerading as a 'dorm'. Overcrowded prisons are not that bad. We hope that there are no casualties. The other cost-break-down seems just as distorted. Sri Nithyananda is not operating these courses at a loss. The big pay-off comes when people pledge a yearly 'donation' of ten percent of their gross income. We know that there's a lot of pressure to commit to that at the end of the program. And, the tours conducted, does that include the world famous 'graveyard' tour? We still feel that this is overpriced and just shows the lack of transparency that Nithyananda's organization has.

Your post: Nithyananda Cult Blog - Total Nonsense!

Our reply:
My, oh, my. There is a tone on this post. Yikes. That blogger must have not had enough work, we mean meditation, that day. You say that we use 'filthy' language, but we see the 'cr@p' word. Perhaps you meant to write 'carp'? Because something sure smells fishy with Sri Nithyananda's operations. We guess when all else fails, try to discredit the Truths by character assault. Holy red herring. (Another fishy aspect.)

The blooger dude's comments show the commitment to this cult, and we'll respect that as much as we can. We just want to say that we have several contributors who were 'insiders' and know refute these claims. Could we please ask where are the funds for the Shiva Lingams that were promised and people contributed real money towards? And, yes, there's all kinds of pressure to change someone's name to the Nithyananda name especially if someone lives in the ashram. We have in our inbox the ultimatum that anyone receiving a Nithyananda name must change it legally within three months and show proof of this legal change or else the Nithyananda Foundation will take away the name. Just a reminder, six of the original twenty-five 'enlightened' followers have left Sri Nithyananda and no longer think his 'enlightenment' is worthy of his certification. We do give credit to Sri Nithyananda's marketing arm making something so horrible look almost attractive on paper. Bill Gates would be jealous. Oh, yes, the blogger dude wrote, "What's your problem whether he sits on a 24K gold throne or a diamond studded one? What do you know about the rich Vedic tradition...?" Yes, we all know which one of the two words "rich Vedic" Sri Nithyananda has emphasized.

Your Post: Perspectives on cults and the Nithyananda blissful cult-ure

Our reply:
Well, it is interesting that you can bring up images of followers under Sri Nithyananda's leadership back to a more simpler and happier lifestyle of people like the Sherpas in Nepal, and the Inuit in Greenland and the Northern Canada. I admit that I do not know much about the Sherpas in Nepal, but I do know that the Divine Mother is big in Nepal, so perhaps She is looking after them and that they are genuinely happy. Perhaps it might be helpful if the blogger talked to Sri Nithyananda Dheera, who we have a lot of respect for. Sri Nithyananda Dheera lived with the Inuit and has some great stories of Inuit domestic violence and alcoholism. Sri Dheera witnessed one the son chasing the elderly parents with a knife in a slow motion-drunken-stupor while threatening to kill them. Regardless, anytime an organization tries to 'bring back' the values of a ‘golden age’ or an utopian society, we smell cult. This is exactly what Jonestown claimed to be doing, and we all know how that ended. Regardless, we appreciate your engaging tone, and we feel that we could better explain why Nithyananda and his organizations is a cult. We look forward to debating this with more depth.

Your post: The futile exercise of judging masters

Our reply:
Yes, we are in agreement. It is a futile exercise of judging True masters, and true dharmic practice to expose fake maters who are not only diluting / hijacking the work of True masters, but causing so much pain of breaking up families, robbing people of their idenities, ending careers, causing divorces and separations, swindling people of their savings, etc., and offering preciously little in return, e.g. fake promise for enlightenment.  Understand, this is not spirituality.  This is fraud. Although there are current masters that we don't agree with 100 percent, we don't allow comments that judge these spiritual people. We see that these masters are offering good to society, and we'll just 'let them be'. But those that operate out of deceit and cheat people, we will expose. Just like calling out a wolf in sheep's clothing, Sri Nithyananda and his cult practices need to be exposed. Innocent sheep are being slaughtered and scattered. The work of Sri Nithyananda is not Divine and awareness needs to proliferate before more victims fall into his trap.

We look forward to more posts and honest debate from the parallel universe of nithyananda-cult-clarity.blogspot.com.

Follow your dharma. Use your common sense. Listen to your inner-conscience, and follow the Truth. Come out of this trap, and escape from this fraudulent cult.

Day 21: Twenty-one days have passed since Sri Nithyananda and his organizations have threatened a baseless lawsuit against us. We'll keep on counting.

  1. The intro weekend meditation program run by unpaid local volunteers jumped from $150 to $250 in 2007 Mission Training. Some aspiring archaryas paid $1000 USD for the volunteer training hoping to bring the meditation program to their town/city. When Nithy announced the program was going from $150 to $250 for the weekend, some volunteers realized it would be hard for them find students who could afford the increased fees in their part of the country.

And how about $6000 USD for 21-days in a dorm in his Indian Ashram? How much it cost to provide very basic dormitory space and meal in a program run by volunteers in rural India? I traveled India enough but would let those living near Bidadi to clarify this.

My guess is that Nithy easily gets more than $5000 in profits for each sucker buying into the program. It may even be worth it if he delivers the promised "enlightenment". Can Nithy offer anything more than a temporary high induced by meditation and lack of sleep?

It is Fraud. Pure and simple.

  2. Nithyananda's new parallel blog is nothing more than the "blasting" style of Nithyananda with his angry tone. After angrily blasting these blog owners, the Nithyananda blog people still claim to be "unclutched". It's hilariously obvious they are not!
What Nithyananda supporters need to understand is that "unclutched" does not mean a license to engage in adharmic activities and justifying them saying "Swamiji told me to do it" does not make you less culpable in the karma you'll still get!
In the name of "Swami Nithyananda", Nithyananda supporters have sadly forgotten the difference between good and evil.

  3. Couples and Married people PLEASE stay away from this cult unless you are a coward and looking for a back door to DIVORCE! I have also experienced the "opportunity" to be put on the spot on certain "initiations" where my spouse and I had difference of opinion. I am glad I had the strength to stand firmly with decision. Boy! that was an "experience". I love my spouse and children dearly to let any such crooks mess with my family. My empathies to all those suffering, in my shoes; please stay away from this cult if you love your family. Think about your children, they need a "normal" life. Think about your poor spouse, how that poor soul is dying within!

  4. I read the pro-nityananda blog which claims that they incur a Net Loss of $200 for the 3 month program. It is ridiculous that it would Cost $8000/INR 3,60,000 to accomodate a person for 3 months. One person's boarding, food, and utilities, in a mass setting like the Ashram would not cost any more than a max of $1,000/INR 50,000 for 3 months.

I do not understand why the followers of this cult do not see it. They have Blinders on. Hope the Blinders come off before they loose everything to this Fraudster.

  5. How about the very young children (6 or 7 years old) being sent away to Nithy's Indian ashram while the parents slave for him in America? Is Nithy's Indian ashram such a great place for a very young child way from the parents?

  6. Dear blogger

Can you please ask this question to the mission

Whenever they start project for shiva lingas or like collecting money for buliding ashram/temple in toronto...why not the progress of the project is made public.....for example I heard in toronto they are collecting money for building temple..but no information is given to as where this money is going nor any progress about the project is made public...if swamijis mission has to survive then they need to be more transperent. Could you please ask this question to parallel blog that why project details are not made public.

  7. The Ananda Sevaks had been told that "Work is Meditation" for them.

Nithy even equate these full-time volunteers to the sudras (slave caste, untouchables) in the Vedic tradition. Nithy used the word Sudra a few times in 2007 Mission Training. He later changed and said they are my "hands" instead. Perhaps after some inner-circle pointed out to him that "sudra" was politically incorrect in the USA.

  8. Life Bliss Organisation is a shame to the the Sanathana Dharma itself. Exploiting Hinduism has become a fashion of the times. Its time to bring awareness in this direction. It is obvious that NRIs are most vulnerable. They are home sick and find such "cults" to satisfy their thirst to touch bases with their identity/origins. In the long run they lose even what they have now in the little nest of their own; what an irony!!

  9. I just checked the prices on the intro programs. The weekend Life Bliss Program is still $250!

The price was raised since the Mission Training 2007.

  10. Anon who mentioned the $8000 program: Agree totally.

A dorm space in Indian ashram would not cost anything more that $1000 USD for 3 months. This esp when the program is run by unpaid volunteers in a rather basic place away from the city.

The $6000 program probably won't cost the ashram more than $500-600 per person at most. This program was about $1000 or less back in 2007 and earlier - if my recollection is correct. What is worse than the huge fees is that Nithy could not deliver the promised enlightenment. Now the program is renamed "Inner Awakening". Some attendees came back more confused than ever:

    http://guruphiliac.lefora.com/2008/04/12/golden-boy-bites-vivekananda-and-yogananda-get-fam/page2/#post39

And where are the Shiva Lingam for the $2500 each many donors contributed for the lingam program in 2007 for Monclair Vedic Temple?

Time to ask for a refund of your lingam money back, this esp you see what a fraud Nithy is.

    ReplyDelete
  11. one of my friend in toronto is very upset as like this shiva lingam project in montclair where 2500 dollars was collected and there is no trace of that project...same way in toronto this mission is collecting money for temple project and there is no trace of project...I am unable to ask this question to parallel nithyananda blog as its not accepting any comment....can this owner of blogger ask this questions..

    1) Why money is collected in name of programmes called Nithyananda youth foundation when there is no such charitable organisation in canada.

2)What is the a/c number and in which bank they have openend a/c for temple project?

    3)What is the amount collected?
4)what is the blue print of the temple?
5)Where is the land in which temple is being built?

It seems this organisation collects money in various project with no intention to start and money is transfered.

    Where is the transperency????????

You can't asked sensitive question on that NithyClairty blog.

Please file your complaints with the US authorities posted on this blog. You don't need to be American or in America to report Nithy fraud to the FBI, etc.

In the mean time , find out the Canadian counterpart of these agancies and report to them. Please don't be robbed. Good luck.

  13. Om Namah Shivaya,

We received a request to post the following message that was left in our 'private' comment application:

"please note: Hindu University of America is NO longer affiliated with all this since almost 6 mths now"

That would be very good news if the Hindu University of America, Inc. (HUA) was freed from the bondage of the perverse and corrupting influences to Vedic Culture, i.e. the Cult of Nithyananda and his organizations including the Life Bliss Foundation.

We will need to look into this before we can confirm it.

We are sure that most, if not all, of the HUA instructors that threatened to quit or actually quit their sincere roles of preserving and teaching the great scriptures and knowledge of Sanātana Dharma will be overjoyed to know that dharma (righteousness) once again triumphed over adharma (unrighteousness).

This makes sense if Medhananda is no longer based in Florida. However, a quick stroll through the HUA's website points to pictures of Sri Nithyananda and his curriculum, e.g. "NITHYANANDA PHILOSOPHY". I wonder if human hair, pot seeds, and red chilies are taught as part of the traditional fire ritual? Let's hope not. A little purity, please....

Stay tuned; we will call HUA tomorrow morning and confirm.

    Jai Maa.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Its true, HUA is no longer affiliated. IVHU has been discontinued as the domain and they have reverted to their previous domain of HUA. I wonder if the pictures and all you are referring to are from the IVHU domain? Anyway...

My experience is that HUA is imparting genuine studies free from cultic associations that I was shocked to experience in this group. Ofcourse: its hard to know initially and all of us have been trapped, and probably true of HUA too when they introduced this affiliation.

The group really 'milked' IVHU's name for certificates for LBP, and all the other workshop programs etc. in India......!!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Om Namah Shivaya,

We had one of our contributors contact the Hindu University of America, Inc. (HUA) to gain clarification. Apparently, Sri Nithyananda had resigned from the Board of Directors about six months ago, and HUA was always independently owned; it as never owned by any of Sri Nithyananda's organizations.

However, the HUA is still closely affiliated with Sri Nithyananda and his organizations. That is why the HUA curriculum and degree programs are still full of 'Nithyananda' books and philosophy. Weekly 'spiritual' gatherings (satsungs) where cult members can worship Sri Nithyananda is held there too.

It is therefore the collective opinion of the contributors to this blog that HUA is still culpable for being a 'marketing' arm to Nithyananda's cult, and the HUA needs to be held fully responsible. A dog that would carry a bone will dig a bone too.

If someone would like the same knowledge offered for free without the 'prized' certificate form HUA, we recommend that you read Osho, Scientology, and DC Comics (where the villain posses as the hero).

    Jai Maa.

  16. Nithyananda does not know how to solve a simple math problem like
    2 + x = 4
He solves it by assume x =1, then 1, then 2 till 2 + 2 = 4 is reached. You can see this in many of his videos.
So if he had to solve
    123 + x = 934603023482432903
he will probably sit forever solving it.

How can this idiot give enlightenment?

  17. Om Namah Shivaya,

Time for a recap on this post. Some issues are addressed in the latest post, "Nithyananda's Parallel Universe is Ignorant, Therefore Not Bliss".

Sometime in early 2009, Sri Nithyananda sent all of the US-based children that were in his Gurukul (traditional Hindu residential school in his Bidadi ashram) back to the U.S. Did Sri Nithyananda do this out of compassion? Perhaps Sri Nithyananda sent these children back because he was scared after receiving a very sharp letter from one very anger spouse detailing how Sri Nithyananda destroyed his marriage. Then Sri Nithyananda figured out that he would probably be open to all kinds of lawsuits if he kept these children there, and that it would be much easier to get a new generation of indentured slaves from either India or Malaysia. We'll write more about this in another post.

Breezing over to the lifebliss.org site, we noticed that there were conflicting prices for the Life Bliss Program Level 1. Only the scheduled programs in Los Angeles were at $125.00. All of the other programs are advertised at $250.00. So, the blogger in the parallel universe of La-La Land, was most likely 'truthful' in stating the lowest price possible for each program in the past year, but certainly not 'honest', because these programs usually do not go that low. Yes, we condemn the blogger of the parallel universe for being deceitful. But, what do you expect from the cult of Nithyananda?

For the record, we will defend Vedic and Indian traditions on this site. But, we will never defend anything that 'divides' and 'separates' people as cults do with the 'us' vs. 'them' mentality. In this way, we condemn the caste system, and we go on to say that everyone has potential. Thank you, Hippie, for remembering that little ditty from Sri Nithyananda.

Great story about the simple math analysis or lack of it. Could you please provide us with the title of one of these videos that Sri Nithyananda demonstrates this logic (or lack of logic)? Our experience is that he is able to do math very quickly and efficiently when it comes to money, but when it comes to his timeline and life story, his ego and strong desire to remain 'youthful' completely distort any semblance of sound logic. So, we look forward to knowing a title of the video that we can all watch on YouTube and arrive at the same conclusion. Thanks.

    Jai Maa.

  19. I don't understand the fuss. I am familiar with his teachings and found them to be quite valuable and practical, particularly in terms of moving away from negative thought patterns. I never felt that they were trying to envelop me into some kind of exclusive cult. And if anything, the meditation practice he prescribes has been extremely beneficial for my health. This is hardly a brainwashing cult of scientology proportions. Perhaps there are other more worthwhile things you could spend your time exposing??

No no no. You don't understand the "luxurious" heavenly accommodations that Paramahamsa Nithyananda Swamigal is providing. See it is actually causing them a $250 loss per participant.

It says very clearly here in this article written by Nithyananda Dheera .

    ROFL!

Of course Dheera will deny he had anything to do with that website. But it is abundantly clear he is behind this website if you know some of his life and the clues he has left in this blog :-)

    Dear friend,

May be you did mot read the whole blog. If you see the time line and still say that you dont care this shows that you are a perfect candidate for this cult. Hang on friend till one day like me after several years realize that I was following a shadow of a ghost and thinking that was bliss.

  23. Anon @ FEBRUARY 11, 2010 4:15 AM:

I found the discourses insightful and the meditation programs useful, too. If there was zero value he was offering, nobody would go.

But you're missing the whole other side of how the whole thing is subtle manipulation of people's thoughts and desires. Have you ever attended an "Inner Healing" session/ you would know what I am talking about.

It is not the same scale as Scientology, but make no mistake, there are common elements. Ever wonder why the entire focus of every single follower is to bring more and more people to the Master? You know how they think? "We have something they don't! We must save them. If they don't catch the Master, they will suffer. etc"

I _personally_ know someone who purchased and stocked the Dianetics book for the Los Angeles Nithyananda ashram. It was also recommended (encouraged!) reading for acharyas. Nithyananda's reasoning was that the methods of Scientology are originally "Tibetan". Yeah right. And guess where Nithyananda picked up the term "engram" from?

Methods of thought control and brainwashing are not always some kind of scary military style concentration camp exercise. It can happen in subtle ways also. You get brainwashed into believing many things everyday. A substitute religion is not true freedom.

  24. In relation to your reply to my previous post about the fuss - I have indeed read your blog. In general, how is the practice of medidation bad thing? Or how is trying to move away from negative thinking patterns counter-productive? I hate to break this to you, but your own personal experience is not metaphoric or representative of everyone. You seriously underestimate me by thinking that I am an ideal candidate for cult brainwashing. Are you based in the US? I am sure you can find many other cults whose teaching and practices are seriously insidious and sinister. Happy to provide you with a list and some links. There are better ways to spend your time my friend.

  25. In general, how is the practice of medidation bad thing? Or how is trying to move away from negative thinking patterns counter-productive?

Actually you are right that meditation is not a bad thing, neither is moving away from negative thought patterns.

However the very source of this - Paramahamsa Nithyananda - seems to be a corrupt blatantly lying scoundrel. Had he been say someone like Deepak Chopra dispensing meditation and not claiming to be God, that is one thing; but here he is claiming to be the divine avataar and he has clearly LIED.

If you had health benefits, that is to do with your meditation and the general by product of that. You can claim that is due to the "divinity" of Nithyananda which is clearly in question.

I have posted here before (and I am still on the "inside") and my city coordinator now tells us in a meeting recently that: "As far as Swamiji's mother remembers, her birthday is Jan 1st 2008". WTF! What do you mean as far as she remembers? I thought Nithyananda had the "conscious birth" and he narrates minute by minute practically how he supposedly landed in the mother's womb and now for the insiders to say as far as she remembers. That is just yet more cover up of lies.

And I came across another blog which is also from insiders (can't find the link right now), in which they are acknowledging he was at the Ramakrishna Mission but he would apparently follow their rules and wear white but when he wandered from time to time he would wear Kavi. So his own Kavi was also at his own whim and fancy just like he does with his Brahmacharis. And that blog talks more nonsense like he wandered from age 12 till 24 or 25. This is just a cover up worse than anything done by a politician.

You seem like an educated chap. Perhaps you even have an advanced degree like many of his devotees have. Use that intelligence and smell the non-sense that is going on here. See often it is difficult to disengage from this organization because of the emotional investment we have in it. On top of that we end up spending so much time, money through programs and volunteering that we find it very difficult to accept that Nithyananda is in fact a LIAR. The more you spend on expensive programs like IA or LBE or do things like Pada Pujas or home darshans, the more you are screwed and unable to see the fraudulent organization this is.

It really takes time to realize the fraud. Trust me. And one day when it is clear you realize what a fraud this is. But as I said before, I still am on the volunteers meetings. And guess what here is some fun thing for you and Nithyananda's cronies reading this in LA or Bidadi - I have recorded some fun things, which in due course I will divulge to authorities or whereever it is needed.

  26. Correction in what I posted earlier:

My city coordinator now tells us in a meeting recently that: "As far as Swamiji's mother remembers, his birthday is Jan 1st 1978". WTF! What do you mean as far as she remembers? I thought Nithyananda had the "conscious birth" and he narrates minute by minute practically how he supposedly landed in the mother's womb and now for the insiders to say as far as she remembers. That is just yet more cover up of lies.

  27. Sorry. I still don't get the fuss. And you're comment about him professing to be God - I never heard him say this when I saw him speak. In Hindu tradition, the belief is that all living things are regarded as an expression of the divine, and human beings have the capacity to attain enlightenment. So yes, it is not unusual to revere Gurus in India and regard them as an expression of the divine, as they are considered enlightened beings who have overcome the cycle of rebirth. Many Gurus are in India are revered in this manner. So would you perhaps condescend to think there is a bit of cultural misunderstanding and disconnect going on here in terms of appreciating a different culture, faith and tradition? Yes I am educated. No I am not a "chap". And I am most certainly not brainwashed. From your postings, you really don't seem to take issue with the substance of his teachings (as I have said before there are other dangerous cults out there professing some seriously dysfunctional teachings). Read the paper my friend - there are much more serious problems going on in the world than preoccupying yourself with a Guru who espouses the practice of meditation. This is the last time I bother to post here. The quality of the debate really is not particularly inspiring. As a favour, I suggest any constructive response to this comment should be something more compelling than "I have been subtly manipulated and don't realise it yet".

  30. Nithyananda was the Maha Mandaleshwar of Nirvana akhada in 2007? I remember he was given the first dip in the Ganges - on video anyway.

Now they do not longer want him there at all? What a change!

If Nithy is honest about his approach to sexuality as Osho did, I would no problem with is having lovers. However, Nithy makes such a big deal about celibacy that bramacharies and married disciples in vanapratha state are forbidden to even masturbate or engage same sex plays so that these followers go crazy without relief. All the while he is taking on different partners.

It his lies, falsehood, fraud that makes him a total adharmic monster.

Thanks for your interest in posting about the Cult of Nithyananda. Please note, that low quality and incendiary comments will most likely not be posted or if posted, they may be altered. Comments should refrain from profanity (bad words) and using manipulative methods to convey your points. Comments should focus on the fraud and cult practices of ‘Swami’ Nithyananda.

In detail, this blog is about the abuses and fraud of ‘Swami’ Nithyananda and his cult. We want your comments to focus on this. Comments that tie in the cult of Nithyananda with other abusive cults or spiritual frauds such as the Lord of Destructive Cults, Osho (Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh), known womanizer and mental torturer, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (Art of Living), convicted sex criminal, Swami Premananda, King of Mass Suicide, Reverend Jim Jones (Jonestown Massacre / The People’s Temple), village idiot and convicted child-molester, Sri Sri Selvam Siddhar Swamiji, a.k.a. Dr. Commander Selvam, mass-murderer Asahara Shoko (Aum Shinrikyo), cheap, plastic avatar, Bhagavan Kalki (Kalki Deeksha Movement / Oneness Movement; [O.M.] et al.), Jaggi Vasudev (Isha Foundation) (who overtime has fallen from good to very bad & uses dark siddhis), the epitome of greedy evilness, Scientology with its deranged nutcase founder, L. Ron Hubbard, etc. will usually get a pass. Although we do not want to deny your personal experience or beliefs, negative criticism about other gurus including but not limited to Amma, Satya Sai Baba, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (Transcendental Meditation [TM]), Paramahansa Yogananda (Self-Realization Fellowship), etc. would be best on other forums; not here. Criticism or comments that go against Paramahamsa Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda, Ramana Maharshi, Jesus Christ, Lord Buddha, Lord Mahavir, and world-recognized religions will probably never see the light of day. This is not an anti-guru or anti-religion blog. This is an anti-cult and anti-fraud blog focusing on our direct experience with the self-titled ‘Paramahamsa’ Nithyananda Swami.

* * NEW * * : You must respect the victims that have come forward. They have withstood false criminal charges, lawsuits, death threats, criminal intimidation, and heaps of humiliation. There's been no gain and lots of pain. The victims that have come forward don't need any more stress. Therefore, anything more than the first name and last initial of a known victim will not be posted 'as is'. Either it will be changed or deleted outright.

We welcome polite critics of ourselves and our blog. Comments that are pro-Nithyananda as long as they are written with the intent to have discussion, dialog, and understanding. For an excellent style, search for comments in blog written by then-supporter (but now defector) “Swamiji is God” (which Nithyananda is not). If you write in that style and intent, your comment is almost guaranteed to be posted. Pro-Nithyananda comments that are incendiary or damage-control propaganda will be: 1. Ignored (not posted) 2. Posted and ridiculed 3. Altered and ridiculed.
